Dr. Lewars, a 1986 honors graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) started in a mixed practice just north of Toronto. In 1990 Dr. Lewars and her family moved to the Manotick area in Ottawa where she became a partner of Manotick Veterinary Hospital.
The Lewars moved to Orangeville in 1996, but Dr. Lewars continued to commute to Manotick and also worked in several other veterinary practices in southern Ontario.
Her penchant for local family veterinary practice spurred her on to open Westend Veterinary Hospital in August of 1999. She continues to be a managing partner of Manotick Veterinary Hospital and an active member of local, provincial and federal Veterinary Associations.
